Reverend Dr. Damion T. Batts
Reverend Dr. Damion T. Batts is a servant of the most high God. He is a native of Amelia County Virginia. Pastor Batts is the son of Missionary Evelyn C. Taylor and Deacon Lloyd A. Batts. At a young age, Pastor Batts was called into the ministry; some even believed he was anointed while in his mother’s womb.
Pastor has had the anointing of God upon him for a very long time. Pastor Batts first public speaking was in 1998 at Sharon Baptist Church located in Dinwiddie, VA, which was under the pastorate of the Rev. Dr. Herbert Winston Anderson. Rev. Dr. Anderson is known as his Grandfather in the ministry, and is very proud of his Grandson. In 1999, Pastor Batts answered his call after the sudden loss of a great influence in his life, his uncle Marvin Venoid Taylor, who always encouraged him to do his best at everything that he did. Pastor Batts was also influenced by his late Grandmother, Deaconess Ida Claudine Thompson Taylor, who always pushed him even when others would doubt him; God used her to be a guiding force to move Pastor Batts to this point in his life.
Pastor Damion T. Batts has answered the call of God to serve His people with dedication, humility, and a deep commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ. In December of 2007, Pastor Batts was called to serve as the Interim Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. During his tenure, he faithfully ministered to the congregation and helped guide the church through a season of growth and spiritual renewal.
In December 2011, Pastor Batts was blessed with a new calling to serve as the esteemed Pastor of the historic St. Luke United Church of Christ in Sedley, Virginia. Over the next five years, eight months, and twenty-eight days, he led the congregation with passion, wisdom, and a heart for God's people. His leadership at St. Luke brought about spiritual growth and a renewed sense of purpose for the church family.
Pastor Batts' journey continued as he was called to serve as the eighth Senior Pastor of the Historic Mount Nebo Baptist Church in Blackstone, Virginia. There, he served with distinction for eight years, leading the congregation through numerous milestones and helping them to strengthen their faith and community bonds.
In March 2024, Pastor Batts embraced the calling to become the ninth Senior Pastor of the historic Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where he continues to serve as a dedicated shepherd of God's flock. Pastor Batts' unwavering commitment to preaching the Word, nurturing the spiritual growth of his congregation, and serving the Lord with integrity has made him a beloved and respected leader in the communities he has served. His faithfulness to God's calling is a testament to his devotion to Christ and His people.
Pastor Batts currently serves as a district overseer for the state of Virginia with Kingdom Destiny Fellowship International (KDFI), and also serves as episcopal adjutant for Bishop Dr. James R. Covington, Jr. (KDFI) of Starkville, Mississippi.
Believing that he is continuing to obtain favor from the Lord, his blessings and treasures have continued as he was united in holy matrimony in November of 2019, to the former Miss Danielle R. Jones, becoming a father of love to Vernon L. Jones, ll.
Pastor Batts is a faithful servant of God and a born-again Christian, who above all, loves the Lord. He is wonderful leader and Pastor. The stern commitment of Pastor Batts is “God will not allow me to lead you into any place where I myself would not go.” He preaches from one Book, the Bible, and his favorite quote that permeates his being is, “If I can help somebody as I pass along the way, then my living shall not be in vain.”
